Scam
it works, sort of.
its like what you see on power lines. it spins a magnet around another magnet around a copper wire which collects the magnetic field created. it requires very very little power if done right. Done correctly on handcrank of energy every 2 years would suffice but normally you would see one that requires constant power. the power only needing to be strong enough for say a static shock. its basic electro-magnetic mechanics.
Any time you see the words perpetual motion and free energy you can be guaranteed it is a scam. It inevitably will toss in a conspiracy by power companies that are trying to suppress the idea.
Invariably the reason you don't see these things in everyone's home is because it does not work.
If you are interested in reducing your energy bills consider techniques to reduce consumption. For now that is perhaps the easiest and most efficient manner to save money.
